Ash (Bratva Blood Brothers Bk1) by Jax Knight

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Ash (Bratva Blood Brothers Book 1) by Jax Knight recently. The author generously offered me a choice of paperback and ebook. I chose the paperback and I received a lovely swag bag too. Of course, non of this will influence my review, but it just goes to show the generosity of the writer.

The Review

I had never read anything by Jax Knight before and do not regularly read this genre so, to be honest, I delayed starting the novel, in case I didn't enjoy it. I did myself and the author a disservice. It is a gripping story.

The novel starts by introducing Gracie a beautiful young woman who is as unlucky in love as she is with employment. She then gets a job working as a waitress at an event run by the company owned by Ash and his family.

Ash is a gorgeous, rich, dangerous Russian oligarch and his first meeting with Gracie soes not go well. In fact it goes so badly it made me cringe, until he slips and lands on top of her in a pile of garbage. I laughed out loud.

The second meeting between the main protagonists is exciting and scary. Ash is in big trouble until Gracie comes to the rescue. it is from there that their romance develops and the excitement increases.

This book has everything! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The work would have benefited from an additional edit, but that did not spoil my enjoyment of the story.

In Ash, the author cleverly weaves the different story arcs. There is the romantic arc between Gracie, the exciting arc that explores Ash's world and the retribution extracted within it. Lastly, the author introduces all members of the Bratva Blood pact so setting up the series to follow.

I've got to follow this series and I recommend it to you too.
